Lewis Hamilton Wins French Grand Prix

British Formula One driver, Lewis Hamilton wins the French Grand Prix and retakes the championship lead from championship rival Sebastian Vettel. This was Lewis Hamilton’s 65th career win.

Mercedes  updated their engine this race whih mena sthat they could line them with their rivals, which ran their respective Ferrari, Renault and Honda updates for the first time in the last race in Canada.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is second and Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen is third which completes the podium places at the Paul Ricard Circuit.

Sebastian Vettel and  Valtteri Bottas collided which gave Sebastian Vettel a five second penalty for causing a crash. Thus also lead to having the safety car out for four laps whist the marshals cleared the debris which was scattered across the track.

Kevin Magnussen finished sixth for the Haas team, with Mercedes Valtteri Bottas seventh. Carlos Sainz eighth for Renault after losing two places three laps from the end when his car lost power.

Renault’s Nico Hulkenberg took ninth place with Monaco rookie Charles Leclerc who finished 10th  for Sauber and  Haas’s French driver Romain Grosjean his first point of the season.

Two French drivers retired , Force India’s Esteban Ocon and Toro Rosso’s Pierre Gasly.
