Dutch racing driver, Beitske Visser wins her home race in Zolder, with Jamie Chadwick behind her.

Visser took control of the race after there was a messy and confusing start as there was left stranded car of Sarah Bovy, which failed at the end of the formation lap which meant that there was a safety car and should have resulted in a second formation lap, but the green flag was given and the race started.

Visser passed pole sitter Jamie Chadwick and led from there on, eventually winning with a commanding eight-second lead despite multiple restarts.

The Safety Car was called on Lap 1 to clear Bovy’s car and was out for two laps. Chadwick attempted a move on the leader at the restart, but Visser defended well to retain her advantage. That was then followed by a second safety car as a result of contact between Esmee Hawkey, Gosia Rdest and Vivien Kesztheyli.

Visser kept the lead once more and remained there until the chequered flag. The previous winner Chadwick finished in second but she had to defend hard from  Alice Powell who passed her at least two times in the race.

Further down the field, there was Marta Garcia, who had finished third at the previous race at Hockenheim two weeks ago, and Sarah Moore battled for  P4. Marta ended up just ahead, and Sarah, therefore, scored her second fifth-place finish in as many races. Meanwhile, also for the second race in a row, Japanese driver Miki Koyama mounted an impressive charge through the field, this time from P13 on the grid to P8. Tasmin Pepper which is from South Africa, she finished in sixth, and Fabienne Wohlwend, from Liechtenstein, was seventh.
