I am often on a tight budget being a student who doesn’t work full-time and however nice it is to buy a higher end product sometimes you can find some really good lower end products. Obviously higher end products might have a slightly higher quality to them, but often you are just paying for the brand name and you can get five similar lower end products for the price of one.
More than half of my makeup collection is lower end products because they are just so much cheaper than higher end products. I tend to stick with lower end foundations or concealers because I have found ones I like and I use them up really quickly so I don’t want to have to spend loads of money every month. I also like to pick up lower end products when experimenting around with my makeup so I don’t use up my more expensive products. Without further ado here are some of my budget beauty bargains!
MUA, Maybelline and NYX Lipsticks
There are so many varieties and different types of lipsticks out there that there are endless amounts of lower end lipsticks that might be really decent and I have found some which I quite like or would recommend if you are trying to save your pennies. The very first lipstick I ever bought was this MUA Lipstick in the shade Peachy Keen. Looking back on this you can definitely tell it is only £1 as it is thick and not easy to put on unless you prime your lips, however it is so pigmented and I really love this shade for summer. It is matte as well and if you have been reading my blog for a while you will know how much I love my matte lippies!
Maybelline is really good for well priced nude lipsticks. I was trying to find a berry or dark brown shade of lipstick last autumn because who doesn’t have a berry lipstick for that time of year? So I got the Maybelline Colour Sensational in 955 Expresso Exposed. This is such an easy lipstick to wear and covers the whole lip with just one application. The only thing I would say is that if you eat it will come off and you will have to reapply it.
Unsurprisingly NYX is also in the mix. This is the only NYX lipstick I have but it is such a fun shade because it is a hot pink with blue glitter in it and it is perfect for the festival season. This is a really long-lasting shade however it is slightly patchy so you have to apply more than one coat of it. You can find the NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in the shade Chloe here.
Models Own Nail Varnish
I first found out about Models Own when I went to the Clothes show in 2013 and this was way before they branched out into doing makeup too. However I love the models own nail varnish because they are so many variations. They have glittery nail varnish, matte, gel effect, scented you name it. They dry really quickly too so you aren’t just sat there feeling helpless because you are stuck with wet nails. My fav has to be the pale pink Nail Varnish in Pink Veneer because it is a really subtle colour for school or work and it has a lovely glossy look to it. I also like the GlitterGel in Petunia Glitz because it is such a great colour to put on your ring finger
Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations Body Mist
I thought about including a perfume because that is beauty related to right?! So I did and I picked the Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations Body Mist. I LOVE THIS. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! It is a scent which some people might not like because it is really sweet but it smells like a macaroon or a bakery. This is only £8 and I can smell it on myself all throughout the day which some of my more expensive perfumes won’t do. I am nearly out of mine so I am going to have to buy it again!
I have so many more budget beauty bargains which I can share with you so let me know if you want to see more.
